press into you

hi.

so i should def be working right now, but decided it was more important to update my blog. on that topic, they really need to make a blog app or sumsing for bb... constantly throughout the day my mind wonders and i feel the need to blog about it, but by the time i get to a computer i completely forget what it was i wanted to write. or maybe i should just go old school and carry around a journal/notepad. just seems cumbersome to have to write it twice... anywhoooo.

so i ran into mike whang last night of thenehemiahband. i guess they were premiering their new music video for "press into you" online. as most people already know about me, music has always had a huge impact in my life and i've pretty much dabbled in all sorts of various genres of music-styling. when i first heard about tnb i honestly wasn't too enthused to say the least. it was before i came to acknowledge Christ in my life and how i am saved through His grace & love. all i knew about the band was that the drummer was the drummer for the praise team at the church i had recently started attending at the time. being that i was still fairly new to that particular church and just churches in general, i was very timid about going out to events/bible studies/praise nights/etc. but i will never forget that fateful night in the summer of 09.

i remembered hearing about tnb leading a praise night at church and how a bunch of people were going to go to worship and what not. like i said, i was very timid at the time and would usually go only if my roommates were going or if i knew a good amount of people who were going to be there. on this particular night, i had no intentions of going to church. it was a friday night and i had already started calling people up to "kick it." but, for whatever reason, at the last minute i decided that i didn't feel like doing the old friday night ritual of meeting up with friends, grabbing a drink or two, or three, or four... something was steering me elsewhere. ultimately, i ended up flaking on my friends and drove out to church. usually i would at least call people up like my roommates, to see if they were going to be there, but on this night it didn't feel necessary. almost like there was a greater purpose at hand rather than just "fellowship." i remember i had gotten there late and worship had already started. as i walked into the room i was greeted by a great friend, paul kim. i stood in the back with him as i listened to tnb lead worship. i carefully observed paul and usually i would've thought he was crazy. the way he was praising God with all his heart and just completely submitting to Him, with no concern of who is watching or who is judging. it was just him & God. dancing together. hand in hand. at that moment i let out a simple cry for help. to be saved. to be able to feel whatever it was that was compelling paul to serve and worship like he was.

what happened next was undeniable. my heart was overflowing, overwhelmed, with a feeling i had never experienced before. an overwhelming abundance of joy, satisfaction, fulfillment, love. He made His presence known. and i couldn't help but breakdown. a wretch like me. to be saved. and paul embraced me. almost as if he knew what had just happened. and we worshiped our asses off all night. after that night i knew things would never be the same. i tried to show my gratitude towards my friends and the members of tnb. but that's also when i realized it was all in His will. in His time. and that He carefully placed all these people in my life at a precise time and precise moment, creating a link or chain, and that each individual person served their own particular purpose in bringing me to Christ. how awesome is that. you can't deny a love like that.

hahaha wow this post is getting deep. but yeah, as i watched the new music video for "press into you" in my tiny cave of an office, it reminded me of my faith. it reminded me of how lucky i am. check out the video for yourself below. it is as powerful visually as it is lyrically. big ups to tnb and their servant hearts.

peezies!!!
